Re: congrats sam!
I have nothing against Allardyce; he is what he is and does what he does. He got us out of the Championship (just) at first time of asking. His problems with us fans started when he felt the need to belittle us over our supposed demands for our team to play "the West Ham way". He should have stayed schtum. My vitriol however is reserved for the pundits, the supposed experts who warned us to be careful what we wish for in wanting Sam out. Where are their apologies to the fans 12 months later? Do they now acknowledge the West Ham way?

Re: congrats sam!
No other manager has divided the fans of our club more
Some said we'd sold out to the devil when he signed for us with his dull, boring, anti-football, anti West Ham football
For him, it always was & probably always will be about getting points on the board
For us, it's all about entertainment, showmanship, exciting, attacking, attractive flowing, football
He never understood that!
He came in to do a job & he did it well. It was a marriage made in hell, but it was what was needed at the time to move us forward
I've got no grudges against him & pleased for his achievement at keeping yet another struggling club up. That's what he does best
We've all moved on . Upwards & onwards for us
I'm glad he signed Kouyate for us

Re Sam
Don't think of where we are now think of where we were four years ago. He was exactly what we needed then just as Slav was just what we needed last year.
It's horses for courses and Sam is perfect for that situation.

Re: congrats sam!
I think it reflects badly on English football that a bitter narcissistic bully boy dinosaur type like him is able to survive and prosper. If it wasn't for the money on offer in the top flight he'd be nowhere near it because teams would need to entertain and win in order to provide income.

Re: congrats sam!
The Sunderland owners and fans were not desperate for entertaining football they wanted to survive. BFS was available and his record speaks for itself. True to form Sunderland have survived to fight another year. Let's be objective and speculate that BFS will establish the Black Cats in mid to lower mid table.

When Sunderland feel the need to recruit a manager good enough to move them up a level they can recruit either of Rodgers or Martinez, not forgetting Brian Laudrup.

Re: congrats sam!
Frankly I very much wanted Sunderland to go down, not because of fatty, just because they have been circling the drain for years and are a dismal football club that just squeaks in every year.

Still I can console myself that Newcastle and their delusions of grandeur are gone and we wont have to hear the words "sleeping giant" coming out of someone's trap for at least year.

Got no real axe to grind with Sam, he got us up when the club was on it's knees, paving the way for where we are today.

Well done and good luck to him

Re: congrats sam!
We outgrew him a couple of years ago, which is probably where most the negativity stems from, he was here too long.

well done to him though, he's done it again. You can't deny his record for keeping teams in the Premier league is excellent.

Re: congrats sam!
Although I was never a real detractor of his (though was very pleased to see him go when he did), Tuesday night would have been nowhere near the occasion with him being part of it. Like being on a messy stag night but each time you look up from between a stripper's tits you see the disapproving face of the groom's Jehovahs Witness brother.

Agree totally. The media will be full of praise, but quite frankly at the stage of the season he took them on, any manager worth his salt could have saved them.

Re: congrats sam!
See its cringey ear wax licking threads like this by 'luvvees for Allardyce' that bring out the worst and stop us 'moving on'. He was a no mark, no ambition cnt who quite appropriately had no place the other night. The contrast between the disrespectful mediocre '1pt is progress, windraws at Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal/Man whatever/anyone above us' scum that he is and Bilic is a gulf as wide as the Pacific. So let's move on. Fuck him and his entourage. No 'congrats' for the overpaid, entitled wanker. Onwards and upwards for Slaven Bilic's Claret & Blue Army.

Old fashioned manager, old fashioned football. Will do a job but you'll be bored. If that's what you want, Sam's your man.
